How are payments to a club checked?

There are two ways to pay a club.

Card payments through EveryDojo. The money goes straight to the club's own Stripe account. Stripe checks the identity and bank details of whoever holds that account. If something goes wrong with a card payment, you can ask your bank to look into the charge.

Paying the club directly. Some clubs give their own details, such as a bank transfer, cash or a link they add. EveryDojo does not handle or check these payments. They are between you and the club.

If you pay directly, check you are paying the right person, and keep a record. A small first payment is a sensible way to start.
